“Education is a human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy and sustainable human development.” – Kofi Annan
Co-Founder Oliver and Nadina Feakins both came to this country as immigrants from their respective countries. Facing the many barriers that face immigrants acclimating to a new country they worked diligently to succeed in a foreign land. After achieving success and being blessed with opportunity through their hard work and sacrifice they decided that they wanted to give back and help other immigrants realize their dreams through education. After teaming up with other like-minded individuals who share similar ideals, the Feakins Foundation was born.
The Feakins Foundation aims at providing support to highly motivated, student immigrants in Lancaster County who despite growing up in the United States have tremendous roadblocks in obtaining post-secondary education. We do this by offering access to scholarships as well a local educational and Legal resources through a local network of partners.
We believe that education is the basic human right of every child and young adult regardless of immigration status. Dreamers in Lancaster County should have the opportunity to obtain a quality college education and positively contribute to their local community.
